Review: Kreative Scenery's Low Adobe Walls

- with Greg

So what goes well with a Large Adobe House? Adobe Walls, that's what!

Now you already get a few with your large house, but if you're anything like me and quite enjoy hiding your infantry behind bulletproof cover then you're going to want some more walls. So, Kreative Scenery have your infantry cover needs....well....covered....!

Your new adobe wall set gives you four long straight sections and four small straight sections which you can use in a heap of different ways and combinations.

And you can use as many or as few as you like to get some really good looking linear obstacles for your 15mm battlefields.

And you know what, they'll even hide your big cats if you want them to!

Once again, we've been set the painted versions of the walls and the detail and paint job really is great! I've taken a couple of close-ups here just so you can see the detail.

Pricing on these bad boys for all out international mates, in $US, is going to be $US18.50 for the painted versions (just like the ones above) or if you want to paint your own, then the set will be $US12.95. Shipping is additional but pretty damned reasonable. Kiwi buyers, just hit up your friendly Trade Me store to get the sharp $NZD pricing!

Dan and I also recently trialled the Low Stone Walls in our recent Batrep over on the BEL YouTube so why not head on over and check that out...

I'll definitely be picking up a copy of this. Its brilliant for playing between rounds at tournaments and just casually with friends.

Dan's Marines WIP

With Dan

I was lucky enough to bags the Marines going into the Pacific project and I can tell you it has been a lot of fun experimenting to get the colours just right. A couple of days ago I finished the Marine Rifle Platoon for my Amphibious Tank Company.

I went for a sand camo on most of the helmets and used colours which can be found in the below video. Overall I had a lot of fun painting these guys they're great sculpts with a lot of character.

Now me being me I couldn't help but overdo it and if there's one thing I really like it's a painting challenge. I chipped the Marines landing craft and then went to town with the AK Interactive products and in the end I was very happy with the results.

Now while it was fun to paint the support options first I couldn't neglect the Meat & Potatoes part of the project and that's the new LVT (A) 1 & 4. For these I used my silly putty technique (not mine but you get my drift) The best part about this is the excitement I get from removing the silly putty from the miniature to reveal the hard edged camouflage underneath.

My little painting guide for the LVT 4 -A:

There's still a bit more work to do and right now it's mostly crewmen and details like tracks and metal colours but in about a week or so most of this should be ready to hit the beach.

SWAG! Pacific Dice Review

with Greg

Now we all know that the guys on this show love dice. Those little hedrons that command how our toys live or die.

I mean, come on, we all need them to play right? May as well have a metric tonne of the things as well!

So, when we talked to the dudes at Dice of War about their products, especially around their FoW Pacific themed dice, and they said they'd send a couple of sets for review, we were stoked! So stoked in fact, that I've video reviewed them! Sorry about the crickets, but you can't quiet the ambient sounds of nature in summer....

Dice of War have a great range of dice for WWII and AIW and I'm sure their range will be ever-expanding. If you're in the market for some new dice, I recommend you head on over and check them out. A set of 16 dice will set you back $20.00AUD/$14.88USD/&10.85GBP plus shipping which is a great deal.

Unboxing Battlefront's USMC Buck Rogers Rocket Men

with Dan

This week, Dan has a look at the Marine Rocket Launcher Battery, manned by the USMC's Buck Rogers Men.

From the book, Gung-Ho!:
"The 1944 campaign to recapture Saipan and Tinian saw the introduction of the truck-mounted 4.5 inch Mk 7 mulitple rocket launcher. Due to the futuristic nature of the rocket trucks the crews were named "Buck Rogers' Men" by the Marine Riflemen. The weight of fire that could be dropped on concentrated Japanese troops or field positions out-weighed their inaccuracy."

Let's have a look at what's inside the box!

Dan Paints! USMC Sherman - Part 1

This week over on the Behind Enemy Lines YouTube account, our resident painting instructor shows you the methods he uses to get that iconic USMC paint scheme on your Pacific tanks. This one is so good, it's a two-parter so keep an eye out for the rest coming soon!

The one thing different about the USMC tankers was their use of improvised armour on their vehicles, especially wood planks to ward off magnetic mines. Given the Japanese propensity for suicide attacks with their much-feared Nikuhaku teams, the USMC started adding additional layers to their Shermans in an attempt to stop the incoming attacks.

Dan's really had some fun with this one as well, so let us know what you think! And please, don't forget to Like and Subscribe! We love that kinda thing!
